WWE Guts Their NXT/205 Live Roster With Several Releases

During the live broadcast of Smackdown, it was reported via Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that various wrestlers from NXT and 205 Live have been let go from the company. The names are as follows:

Bronson Reed has responded to the news on Twitter. He was perhaps the most surprising release- just a couple of months ago he was NXT North American Champion, and his last appearance was a main event match with Adam Cole on the July 27 episode of NXT, in a losing effort. After working dark matches at Smackdown, it was thought that Reed was heading to the main roster. Reed had this to say regarding his release:

The releases of 205 Live stars such as Asher Hale & Ari Sterling were also quite surprising, given that they were signed to WWE quite recently. In fact, with 205 Live now ironically being a taped show, this week's episode- which aired on the WWE Network following Smackdown- featured two released Superstars. Leon Ruff defeated Grayson Waller, and commentary mentioned that he was making a big reture after some time off TV. In the main event, Ari Sterling lost to NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida, and Sterling was hyped as "a new face on 205 Live".

Wishing all the best to all the great talents that lost their jobs today. Hopeful that they land on their feet in the ever-growing pro wrestling world.
