UFC 257 Fight Card & Weigh-In Results

We get back to MMA coverage on The Arena with a blockbuster card at UFC 257- the return of the Notorious Conor McGregor. McGregor will face Dustin Poirier in a rematch of their 2014 bout. The former UFC lightweight champion hasn't fought in a whole year. McGregor kicked off 2020 by kicking the head off Donald Cerrone in 40 seconds. After the fight, a clearly motivated and jubilant McGregor stated his desire to have a "2020 season" where he would fight multiple times in the year.

Unfortunately, the pandemic struck, changing Conor's plans. Whether it was due to health concerns for his family, or monetary concerns with no fans to attend his fights, McGregor opted to stay out of the cage. In his absence, former rival Dustin "The Diamond" Poirier continued his impressive streak since moving up to lightweight, beating Dan Hooker in a Fight Of The Year candidate. That punched Poirier's ticket to get another crack at the Irish superstar on Fight Island.

Both matured as fighters and men, the build has been much more cordial than it was leading to their first fight at UFC 178. McGregor and Poirier were plying their trade at featherweight at the time, and it was a short battle. McGregor would stop Poirier via TKO at 1:46 of the first round. This time around, the two men exchanged smiles and kind words. However, they are still top level fighters, and it should be an excellent bout tomorrow in Abu Dhabi.

Conor McGregor was the first man on the scales for the official weigh-ins. As a non-title main event fight, both men had the 1 pound allowance to work with, but Conor weighed in at exactly 155. It appeared to be a calculated move and a message to both Poirier and the division, as he immediately yelled, "1-5-5. That's championship weight!"

The rest of the card weighed in as follows:
