Michael Chandler Signs With The UFC
Michael Chandler has signed with the UFC, and it's not going to take him long to mix it up with the big boys- well, figuratively, seeing as he fights at lightweight. The ink has barely dried on Chandler's contract, and he's been slotted in as the primary back-up fighter should someone pull out of the Khabib vs. Gaethje fight at UFC 254.
If you're unfamiliar with Chandler, here's a quick crash course- he's spent the majority of his pro fighting career competing in Bellator MMA. Most recently, he scored perhaps the most emphatic victory of his career, scoring a first round KO over former UFC Lightweight Champion, Benson Henderson. A former Bellator Lightweight Champion, Michael Chandler received attention in the MMA community following his epic title fights against Eddie Alvarez- in the first bout, he won via 4th round submission, and in the second, he lost a very narrow split decision.
Michael Chandler absolutely has the credentials and resumé to compete at a high level inside the Octagon. It certainly seems like he will be tested against the best in very short order.
