Former WCW & TNA Star Daffney Found Dead; Age 46

Sad news today as a prominent figure in women's wrestling has lost her life. Shannon Spruill, known to WCW and TNA audiences as Daffney, has been found dead today. She was only 46 years old. It appears she was battling major mental health issues, as she posted a video to her social media on Wednesday night where she was incredibly upset and crying, saying, "Do you not understand that I am all alone?" and, "I am so sorry. Remember, my brain goes to Boston."

Tributes have been flooding in in recent hours from various wrestling stars, particularly women's wrestlers who interacted with Daffney throughout her prolific career outside of WWE, such as Bayley, Zelina Vega and Shazza McKenzie.

Thoughts: Heartbreaking news. The video makes for some incredibly uncomfortable viewing. Daffney was a unique character that stood out in the wrestling world with her charisma and aesthetic, and the tributes paint her as a mentor and friend to many of today's wrestling stars.

This particularly hits home for me, as someone who lost their father due to suicide. If you are having any suicidal thoughts, I implore to reach out to some mental health services. For Australians, contact Lifeline Australia at 13 11 14.
