Christian Cage Wins The Impact World Championship

Yesterday, AEW debuted their new one-hour program, AEW Rampage, on TNT. Immediately following WWE Smackdown on FOX, the All Elite crew needed to start things off hot, and an Impact World Championship match between champion Kenny Omega and challenger Christian Cage fit the bill.

The two Canadians displayed incredible chemistry in front of a raucous Pittsburgh crowd, and ultimately some Elite shenanigans backfired, as the Young Bucks ran down with a steel chair. Omega goes for the One Winged Angel on the chair, but Christian slips out and hits the Killswitch on the chair for the 3 count! Christian Cage is the NEWWWW Impact World Champion, and in doing so has relieved the Belt Collector of two of his titles- both the Impact and TNA belts.

Christian Cage will face Kenny Omega for the AEW World Championship at AEW All Out on September 5 (6th in Australia). If this Rampage match is any indication, we could be in for an instant classic in Chicago.
