Men's & Women's Survivor Series Matches Announced

We're a couple of weeks away from WWE Survivor Series. An institution in WWE, once considered one of their "Big Four" PPVs, seems like an afterthought this year. WWE's social media reported the following participants for each of the traditional Survivor Series elimination matches.

Men's Elimination Match- Team Raw (Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, Finn Balor, Rey & Dominik Mysterio) vs. Team Smackdown (Drew McIntyre, Jeff Hardy, King Woods, Sami Zayn & Happy Corbin)

Women's Elimination Match- Team Raw (Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Queen Zelina, Liv Morgan & Carmella) vs. Team Smackdown (Sasha Banks, Shotzi, Natalya, Shayna Baszler & Aliyah)

Thoughts: The thrown-together nature of this really bugs me. On paper though, the men's match is really strong. Obvious stories include Seth and the Mysterios being on the same team ("how will they co-exist?!?") and Zayn and Corbin are sure to irritate their own teammates in entertaining ways.

The women's match has a lot of talent, but after the shambles that was the Queen's Crown tournament, where match run-time was back to Divas era levels, my hopes aren't too high. Aliyah is an interesting choice for the team given that she hasn't wrestled on TV since joining Smackdown. I thought maybe I had missed something, but Cagematch tells me she's done nothing but work dark matches so far. Sure to be some tension with Sasha Banks and the newly heel Shotzi (last name redacted) as well.
